Pregnancy and Postpartum

We Support Moms
Perinatal mental health difficulties occur during pregnancy and the 1st year postpartum. Some of these mental health issues include depression, anxiety, OCD, bipolar disorder and psychosis.
If these issues are left unaddressed, they can have significant long-term effects on the mom, her baby, her partner, and others close to her.
Antepartum and postpartum counselling is focused on the healthy relationship development between mother, child, and other support networks.
What You Can Expect
The transition to motherhood, or adding to a growing family, is a significant life change that can bring extraordinary joy, but also significant challenges. At Foundations, we provide a safe space for moms and expecting-moms to process all of the emotions and navigate them in healthy ways.
Challenges with conception, difficulties and/or worries during pregnancy, and postpartum depression are all common occurrences. The good news is they are treatable.
Talking with one of our therapists will help identify triggers and develop strategies to find relief, process emotions and feelings, and set attainable goals that support the development of a healthy bond between you and your baby, and you and your partner.
It is estimated that 30% of women experience mental health challenges in the perinatal period, so just know that you are not alone.
